Election Debate: Lying About Libya

The Presidential Debate: Lying About Libya

I’ve been really concerned about the issue with the obvious “intelligence mishap” surrounding the recent attack on the US consulate in Benghazi -and I don’t really have any expectations for politicians, but I’ve been extremely disappointed at the way the Main Stream Media has covered this -barring the over-kill that FOX News plays on loop, all day.I was somewhat surprised that Martha Raddatz kicked-off the VP debate with a question about the… we’ll call it “confusion” since no one is exactly sure what happened, still -but Raddatz gave Biden an open back-door by calling it an “intelligence mishap”.

So, I wasn’t AS surprised last night when Candy Crowley point-blanked said Mitt Romney was wrong in his claim that the president denied that the attack on the consulate was a planned terrorist attack rather than an impromptu protest against some home-made film about the profit, Muhammad. Crowley later corrected herself, reducing her on-camera correction to a mere argument over semantics. In truth, the president did use the words “terrorist attack” in regards to the situation in Benghazi… but who is actually misrepresenting this issue, here?!

The crowd cheered last night, though, as Crowley seemingly corrected Romney’s claim that the president mishandled -her immediate follow-up about blaming it on a video for two weeks seemed to be brushed under the rug… forget any of these folks hearing the even later recanting of her correction where she admitted that Romney was in fact correct in his statement that president Obama denied this was a planned terrorist attack.

The issue here is WHY this attack happened -was it an impromptu protest about a random video on Youtube, or was a premeditated attack that we were warned about and just didn’t prepare for… God knows why -it’s really hard to believe that the President was just too busy with his re-election campaign to notice the requests for back-up, and it’s even more unbelievable that people can’t see this as an obvious effort to cover-up this negligence.

I couldn’t even hear the rest of the debate -there was far too much lying going on, and I quit paying attention…

If you’re worried about which candidate was lying LESS, there are a number of fact checking groups out there -go see what they said, and make sure they aren’t lying, too.
